We will be hosting a final tour of the New Laboratory Science Building (NLSB) with Whiting-Turner on Friday, April 27 at 2:00PM. Note that participants must be members. If you are interest, please e-mail email@example.com and request to be added to the sign-up list.
Participants must wear longs pants closed-toed shoes (steel-toed boots are preferred), and safety glasses (sun glasses are okay too, however, you will be inside the building). Hard hats and vests will be provided.
The 5th Associated General Constractors (AGC) meeting will be held on Tuesday, April 10th, 2012 at 6:00 PM in Marston 132. Speaker Niels la Cour, Senior Planner on the Campus Planning team, will be joining us to discuss the UMass Campus Master Plan.
ASCE and AGC will be joining forces this year to sell some awesome t-shirts! We are excited to present this year’s new shirt, designed by Tomer Soran. They are Celtics green with a new design on the back. The price is $15.
The t-shirts will be distributed and sold at the UPub from 7:00PM-8:00PM (Saturday, March 31) before the bar crawl. If you are over 21 and joining us for the crawl, make sure to wear your t-shirts during the crawl, as for some bars this is your “access pass” which will enable easier entry into the bars. You may also contact either Zach (zbemis@…), Michelle (mfiorell@…), or Hannah (hgiovann@…) to submit payments; however, the availability of your shirt size is no longer guaranteed.
Here is the proposed AGC/ASCE Bar Crawl itinerary:
7:00 – 8:20: UPub
8:20 – 8:30: catch Bus 31 to downtown
8:30 – 9:30: McMurphy’s
9:30 – 11:00: Stacker’s
11:00 – 1:00: Monkey
The 4th Associated General Constractors (AGC) meeting will be held on Tuesday, March 6th, 2012 at 6:00 PM in TBA. Listen as Jonathan McNulty and Mike Manzolillo, Project Engineers for Dimeo Construction, talk about the campus construction of the Commonwealth Honors College Campus between the Rec Center and Boyden Gym.
The 3rd Associated General Contractors (AGC) Chapter Meeting will be held in joint with ASCE on Wednesday, December 7, 2011 at 6:30 PM in Marston 132.
Our guest speaker is Scott Michalak, the chief of the Geotechnical/Water Resources Branck for the Army Corps of Engineers. He will be discussing “Levy Safety and Construction of Our National Infrastructure”.
As always, refreshments will be provided.
